Client: Confidential, North America, 2023-2026

Project: New Continuous Cooking Plant, new Pulp Dryer (Fluff Pulp), Crude Tall Oil and Turpentine System, modification to recausticizing area, and identifying mill bottlenecks

White Liquor Plant 3D
White liquor plant project

Client: Confidential, North America, 2023-2024

Project: The project will increase White Liquor production capacity by installing a new White Liquor Disc Filter (WLDF), compressor system, and lime mud and filtrate handling systems. It also includes new feed and storage tanks with pumping and agitation for Lime Mud and Weak Wash, a new FITNIR system for process control, a Nitric Acid offloading and storage system, and a new Oxidized White Liquor System.

Project Scope/Technical Data: Update and increase White Liquor production capacity to 8200 M3/day

Kraft mill upgrade

Client: Irving Pulp & Paper, Saint John, New Brunswick, 2022-2023

Project: The project included upgraded chip handling, storage, and screening, as well as minor upgrades to the cook plant. We will also be upgrading the brown stock washing system and reconfiguring the bleach plant. The pulp dryer will receive minor upgrades, and we will install a new recovery boiler, evaporator plant, and turbo generator. Additionally, the project scope covers an additional lime kiln, a new white liquor plant, an upgraded green liquor plant, and a revamped mill electrical distribution system. The product is NBSK.

Project: Replacement of exiting M&D Digester with a new Continuous Digester, New Blow Tank, Blow Line Refiner and LC De-shiving Refiners, New Chip Washer, Chip Pump, Sand Separator, Reboiler, Black Liquor Cooler, Fiber Screen, NCG Scrubber and Cooling Tower

Restart of the dormant BKNP pulp mill

Client: Nordic Kraft, Lebel-sur-Quévillon, 2018-2020

Project: The project involved engineering assistance for the restart of a dormant pulp mill. Key tasks included replacing the existing Lurgi Cl02 plant with R8/R10 Erco technology, rebuilding and expanding the chemical unloading and methanol storage facilities, and implementing new acid and alkaline sewer systems. Additionally, the project required the installation of a Pressure Diffuser Washer, three new compressors, and the rebuild of the Ammonia to Aqua-Ammonia additive system at the effluent treatment plant.

Linerboard conversion study

Project: New OCC recycle fiber plant in existing recycle building at 1900 T/d capacity, converting existing Paper Machine from newsprint to linerboard, refurbishing OCC receiving warehouses, and power generation “Island” improvements by increasing power generation output.

  • Linerboard: 16 – 42#, 100% recycled fiber
  • Trim width at winder: 9100 mm

  • Marinating production of 15 MW power, aiming to improve it by 8-9 MW.

Kraft liner conversion study

Client: Paper Excellence, Catalyst Crofton, Crofton, British Columbia, 2021-2023

Project: The project included several major updates, starting with the construction of a new OCC recycled fiber plant within the existing ground wood building. It also involved converting the PM 3 machine from producing newsprint to kraft liner and upgrading the current kraft mill to Kappa100. Additionally, the existing refiners will be repurposed as part of a new refining concept.
