Cobot & Robotics Arrow pointing right

At the experience center, visitors can explore the future of automation through hands-on demonstrations of robotic and collaborative solutions. The showcase includes palletizing and material-handling applications presented in both a traditional industrial robot environment and a flexible cobot setup. By combining advanced automation with smart safety systems, the center highlights how productivity, adaptability, and operator safety can coexist – offering valuable insights into how modern manufacturing can seamlessly integrate robots and humans in efficient, secure workflows.

MoMa Arrow pointing right
MoMa

Many businesses face the same challenge: how to automate efficiently without expensive, fixed installations? The answer is spelled AFRY MoMa – a mobile manipulator developed by AFRY that combines the freedom of movement of AMR technology with the versatility of a cobot.

AFRY MoMa can move to where the need is and perform tasks directly on site, making it possible to let several processes share one and the same robot. The result is cost-effective automation, higher productivity and new opportunities even in environments where traditional industrial robots were not previously an option.

The technology is here and now – reliable, flexible and ready to collaborate with people. Come and discover how AFRY MoMa can change the way we think about logistics and automation!

MoMa use cases

Mobile machine tending

Using a mobile robot for machine tending applications provides an entirely new level of flexibility and resource efficiency. Since the robot can automatically and autonomously move between multiple machines, its utilization rate increases significantly compared to a fixed installation. This means that the same robot can serve several production cells across different shifts or tasks that was previously impossible without extensive reconfiguration. Adding the ability to fetch materials independently for the required process results in higher productivity, reduced downtime, and more cost-effective automation.

Sample and quality control

Using a MoMa solution for handling and extracting samples from production lines to quality control introduces entirely new levels of efficiency and traceability. By autonomously moving between different production stations and measurement equipment, the mobile manipulator automates a task that has traditionally relied on manual handling. This enables samples to be collected, transported, and delivered for inspection with high precision and without interrupting ongoing production. The result is faster quality feedback, more consistent processes, and improved resource utilization — while freeing up personnel for more value-creating work.

Line replenishment

Using a MoMa solution for line replenishment brings a new level of flexibility and efficiency to material supply within production. The mobile manipulator can autonomously retrieve components or timepackaging materials from storage areas and deliver them directly to the production line as needed. This ensures a continuous flow of materials without manual intervention or production interruptions. By adapting dynamically to real-time demand, the MoMa optimizes inventory levels, reduces waiting times, and minimizes the risk of line stoppages. The result is a more stable, efficient, and resource-optimized production environment.

AMRs Arrow pointing right

AFRY Flows Fleet and Edge are completely vendor-independent systems for managing flexible logistics including autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and AGV trucks. The platforms support a wide range of brands, provided that the respective robot or AGV supplier offers compatible communication interfaces.

In our demo, we showcase Omron AMRs in multiple sizes, ranging from 60 kg to 1500 kg, as well as various configurations equipped with top modules such as conveyors and lifting units.
