Battery sector value chain and AFRY focus areas

The value chain begins with mining and minerals processing, followed by battery chemicals production. On the cathode side, it progresses through precursor cathode active materials (pCAM) and cathode active materials (CAM) production, while on the anode side, it involves anode materials preparation.

The next phase in the value chain consists of cathode and anode manufacturing, as well as assembly lines for cells, modules, and packs. This culminates in various applications, including electric vehicles (EVs), energy storage systems, and consumer goods.

The subsequent phase in the value chain focuses on second-life use, and ultimately, battery recycling.
