Christian Rosén
"What appeals to me is that I can get different departments and professions in an organisation to create and implement something together. It's not uncommon to be faced with all kinds of challenges, and that's probably where my appeal lies."
Christian is a responsive leader who emphasises the importance of communication, even when goals are not always clear. He strives to create the best conditions for his team to succeed and is a role model who values clarity and transparency in communication.
How long have you been working at AFRY and how did you get here?
I started working at AFRY, or ÅF as it was then called, in 2018. Before that, I worked at Västerås in a company that creates products, solutions, and services in areas such as automation, electrification and digitalisation. After about eight years, I felt it was time to move back home to Stockholm. By then I had experience in several different roles, but the role I was particularly passionate about was project management. AFRY already had a very good reputation, and when they called and offered me the position of Senior Project Manager, I jumped at the chance.
What is your current assignment?
I currently work for Customised Solution, a company that is part of AFRY that develops complex solutions for external customers. In my particular case, this means that the projects and products we develop, produce and support are executed and managed by colleagues at AFRY. The customer is in the telecoms industry and the products we develop are test platforms for the development and validation of their base stations. My role is part hardware development project manager and part product owner for these platforms.

What do you like most about project management and leadership?
Involving different departments and professions within an organisation in co-creating and delivering a project together. Having a jointly defined goal that the group is working towards creates a stimulating dynamic. It's not uncommon to be faced with a wide variety of challenges, and that's the beauty of the job - it rarely gets boring or monotonous.
What is your role as a leader?
My role as a leader is first and foremost to create the best conditions for my team to work well. I try to set a good example and listen to the thoughts and opinions of my colleagues. Clarity and transparency are the main principles of my communication. Sometimes the terms are unclear, or the task is unspecific, but even this can be communicated. Prestige is hopefully the judgement others give me. I believe in personal responsibility and the ability to admit my shortcomings and blunders.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Spending time with family and friends and doing carpentry work on my country house. In between, I try to do sports: running and going to the gym.
