How do you unite stakeholders around projects within infrastructure, energy and industry?
Within large projects, there are numerous stakeholders and decision makers. The challenge is to get all people on board with the vision and expected outcome of a project. It always comes down to a question of communication.
At AFRY Experience Studios, we use large-scale interactive models to make projects come alive in a visually realistic setting. Since 2016, our team at AFRY has created over 30 projects for various clients in Finland, Sweden, Norway, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, and Switzerland.
Large-scale interactive models for infrastructure, energy, and industry
The team works with land survey data and combines it with 3D models from the project to create digital versions of the built and natural environment. Using Unreal Engine, the resulting interactive model can be used for an iterative design process, where it becomes an effective tool to produce films, images, sightline analysis, and interactive experiences.
To highlight a project, Rhätische Bahn in Switzerland is renovating and restructuring train stations along the route. AFRY Experience Studios was assigned the task of creating a digital replica of the Zuoz valley and train station. The digital model for the Zuoz train station was used for film production and sightline analysis for the train drivers. The digital model allowed the train drivers to approve the placement of signs and signals before the actual renovation was carried out, which minimised the risk of costly mistakes.
Large-scale interactive models for the built environment
Planning the built environment in cities is extremely complex, and this is where interactive models allow the user to test and evaluate city planning before it is changed. The team at AFRY Experience Studios has created large-scale interactive models for the client Got Event, which is the City of Gothenburg´s event and arena company that operates some of Sweden´s most beloved venues. We have created large-scale interactive models for three venues:
- Old Ullevi Stadium
- Ullevi Stadium
- Scandinavium
The interactive stadiums will be used for an ecosystem of services, including event planning, marketing, recruitment, interactive site visits, security planning & training, and stadium development.
