Anastasiya Kornitska - one of our new cyber security experts
Anastasiya Kornitska works with cyber security, more specifically Operational Technology, OT, security. She helps to protect business that have cyber-physical environments. Read on to learn more about her thoughts on OT security and AFRY
How would you describe OT security and why have you chosen to work with it?
"OT, Operational Technology, is anything that makes changes in the cyber-physical world. OT covers a very large span of technologies and industries and my job is to secure theses environments. Our team of three has come here to AFRY to raise the bar of OT security in both Sweden and internationally."
"One of the main reasons why I’ve chosen OT security as my life path is because it is something that actually makes an impact on the quality of life for people, their safety, it prevents injuries, damages and loses. And because OT security impacts such a broad area you can actually see the results on a very large amount of people, it has an impact within electricity, transport, manufacturing, production, hospitals, and other critical infrastructure and large private sector actors. Working with OT is something that has removed the existential question of “Why?” for me due to its clear, positive impact."
Why did you chose to start work at AFRY?
"AFRY is for me the right place to be to help implement OT security across many different industries and sectors. I think AFRY is the right place to be if you want to get right to the industries, companies and organisations who produce, maintain, and implement technology that makes a lot of impact on the physical world."
"I’m also very glad to be able to join AFRY right now since it is great timing to start a large scope of work on OT security as it will be a game changer in many of the industries. AFRY is the right place to come to and do these changes since we are implementing and building new technology that has not yet been widely implemented."
What is something you see in your colleagues here at AFRY?
"Some of the things that are seen from the very beginning about people employed at AFRY is high competency and hands-on expertise. From the very first day, you can see that people have a very deep knowledge in what they're doing. Here, there are so many different shades of security, engineering and other technical professions which creates the right mix for efficient work in OT security."
