AFRY and MIKA win prestigious Red Dot Design Award for transport solution
Innovation through collaboration
MIKA Innovation chose AFRY for our expertise in high-end design. Together, we set out to redefine sustainable goods transportation through an autonomous, electric, and software-driven solution. On 15 October, AFRY and MIKA were honoured with the prestigious Red Dot Design Award for the concept of the autonomous transport solution, Rolling Jenny.
Red Dot Design Award is one of the world’s largest design competitions. And has become known internationally as one of the most sought-after marks of quality for good design.
Stefan Ohlsson & Mikael Karlsson Founders of MIKA Innovations AB have very high set sustainability goals and their autonomous transports solution Rolling Jenny contributes significantly to obtain the goals. By focusing on designing a solution that is centered around the goods flow, the results are significantly reduced energy consumption and materials usage. Furthermore, it drives uptime and productivity – overall contributing to a reduced environmental footprint.

AFRY has been involved from the beginning of the project and worked closely with MIKA Innovation on brand development, design strategy, product design integration, product development, modelling, and visualization for Rolling Jenny.
