AFRY and Terranet develop a joint offering

Letter of Intent to offer expert knowledge in development of sensors

The collaboration between AFRY and Terranet aims to strengthen the offering within safe autonomous vehicles and connected industry, IoT, to their respective clients.

The future generations of autonomous vehicles require new types of advanced sensors that, in a very short time, can detect all possible objects and threats surrounding the vehicles. To handle the rapid processes that can occur, safe and fast data handling, powerful sensor technology and high precision when it comes to positioning are needed.

AFRY and Terranet have today signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to offer expert knowledge and intellectual properties in development of sensors to their clients in the connected industry and the development of sensors.

Together they possess a high level competence and broad experience in product development, which provide the clients with a complete and, at the same time, agile offering with high customer value. Among other things, the clients can benefit from the vast experience of product development and intellectual properties such as patents and results from research that AFRY and Terranet hold.

“We’ve worked with AFRY for many years as a partner in R&D for signal processing and image analysis, and Terranet is thrilled to have the newly signed LOI to extend this collaboration further with the automotive industry’s leading design house in Sweden and across most of Europe”, says Pär-Olof Johannesson, CEO of Terranet, and continues:

“The partnership will allow our team to continue its important work in developing new solutions to the autonomy of transport systems. Working with AFRY will provide the references, increased pace, and new business opportunities to get Terranet’s technologies to market.”

“There is generally a great demand from various segment of autonomous systems, and Terranet’s excellence is very much in line with that development. At AFRY, we are proud and happy to announce a long-term and deepened collaboration that will give our clients more customer value going forward”, states Jonas Larsson, Business Area Manager, Connected Products, AFRY.
