Hertz partners with AFRY for relaunch of free car sharing solution

Better User Experience for Hertz Freerider

An exciting development for eco-conscious travellers, Hertz has relaunched its innovative Freerider service, offering free car rentals for those willing to drive a Hertz vehicle back to its original location.

Initially launched in 2005, this service has now been given a design and development makeover thanks to a collaboration with AFRY.

A close collaboration with the customer, using agile methods in redesigning their car relocation service, improved the user experience for the customer, and also the service administrator.

Changes in the design

AFRY's contributions included reimagining the Freerider's user interface, making it more intuitive and inclusive. This update ensures smoother booking processes and enhanced accessibility, aligning with modern digital standards and user expectations.

Its benefits are many: for the wallet, our environment and society. The solution is also highly inclusive, as it allows users with limited financial resources to travel longer distances.

As cities and consumers increasingly prioritise sustainability, services like Freerider represent a crucial shift in transportation strategies. Hertz, with AFRY's expertise, sets a precedent for how businesses can simultaneously achieve economic efficiency and environmental responsibility.

In short, Freerider is a true win-win solution that paves the way for future mobility!
