Om AFRY i Danmark

AFRY listed on Europe's Climate Leaders 2023

AFRY has been listed on Europe’s Climate Leaders 2023, compiled by Financial Times and Statista.

The Climate Leaders list collects 500 of Europe’s most ambitious companies in terms of reducing their greenhouse gas emissions. This year, rankings were made by not only calculating companies’ performance in cutting emissions in scope 1 (their own operations) and scope 2 (purchased energy), but also by assigning a score reflecting their transparency on Scope 3 (missions arising elsewhere in companies’ value chains). In addition, this year’s ranking also factored in other indicators of commitment to reducing emissions.

And it is crucial that businesses pick up speed. Our planet’s carbon budget is running alarmingly low. The IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) points out that if annual greenhouse gas emissions 2020-2023 average out at 2019 levels, there is a 50 percent likelihood that global warming will hit the 1.5°C limit. Last year, warming reached at least 1.1°C above pre-industrial levels, and we saw extreme weathers: heat waves, drought, and failed harvests. Every increase of global warming will intensify the hazards, and action must be taken now.
