Strengthening compliance and safety in wind turbine operations
AFRY has entered into a partnership with Finspection Oy, a Finnish accredited inspection body specializing in pressure equipment inspections. The collaboration expands AFRY’s wind turbine inspection offering by enabling statutory pressure equipment inspections to be carried out efficiently as part of wind turbine operations and maintenance.
Certain wind turbines are equipped with pressure equipment such as hydraulic accumulators, which must be inspected at regular intervals in accordance with regulatory requirements. These inspections must be performed every four years by an Accredited inspection body which has been approved by Tukes (Finnish Safety and Chemicals Agency).
Through this partnership, AFRY and Finspection Oy combine their complementary capabilities to help wind farm owners meet these requirements in a practical and coordinated manner.
This partnership strengthens AFRY’s ability to support wind farm owners with integrated inspection solutions that combine operational expertise with accredited regulatory inspections. By working closely with Finspection Oy, statutory pressure equipment inspections can be carried out safely, efficiently, and as part of planned wind turbine service activities.

Responding to regulatory requirements in wind power operations
Pressure equipment used in wind turbines is subject to national and EU safety legislation. Compliance requires not only technical expertise, but also an in-depth understanding of turbine systems, site conditions, and access procedures.
AFRY brings long-standing experience in wind turbine operations, inspections, and site coordination, while Finspection Oy provides the accredited competence and authorizations required to carry out periodical pressure equipment inspections. Together, the companies offer a solution that integrates regulatory inspections with normal wind turbine operations.
By aligning inspection activities with other scheduled turbine visits, the approach helps minimize downtime and costs, and simplifies compliance for wind asset owners.
Joining this extensive cooperation with a company like AFRY, with its strong market position and long-standing experience in the wind power sector, has been truly great. Through this cooperation, Finspection Oy can bring a domestic, accredited inspection body alternative to the market for periodical inspections of pressure accumulators used in wind turbine systems. We believe this will provide customers with new options while also supporting the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of wind power operators.

Clear roles, coordinated delivery
In the partnership model:
- AFRY is responsible for wind turbine access, operational expertise, and coordination at the site level.
- Finspection Oy conducts the pressure equipment inspections as the accredited and Tukes-approved inspection body.
This clear division of roles provides a robust foundation for safe, compliant, and efficient inspections across wind turbine fleets.
Pilot project with Suomen Hyötytuuli Oy
The service has already been piloted with Finnish wind energy company Suomen Hyötytuuli Oy, demonstrating how periodical pressure equipment inspections can be integrated into wind turbine inspection programs in practice.
Strengthening AFRY’s wind turbine inspection offering
The partnership with Finspection Oy further broadens AFRY’s inspection services for wind power, supporting clients throughout the operational phase of their assets while addressing evolving regulatory and safety requirements.
AFRY continues to develop collaboration models that combine technical, operational, and regulatory expertise to help wind farm owners operate safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with applicable legislation.
