AFRY presents handbook for recruitment of foreign born engineers

Aiming to offer support to companies who wish to get started with or accelerate their recruitment of foreign born employees

Through the initiative Immigrated Competence Programme, a project we started 2015, we have hired more than 700 foreign born colleagues to AFRY in Sweden. The programme is led by Inclusion & Diversity Manager Amir Nazari and in addition to talented colleagues with different backgrounds it has given us a wide range of valuable insights.

These insights have now been collected in a handbook, with the aim to inspire and support other companies who would like to get started with or increase their recruitment of foreign born or newly arrived employees.

Amir Nazari at AFRY

“Recruiting outside of Sweden is not just a necessity to meet the high demands from the industry, it also provides opportunities for people who, for different reasons, have had to leave their home countries. It also contributes to greater diversity in our organization, which we know creates a more dynamic workplace with higher levels of creativity."

– Amir Nazari, Inclusion & Diversity Manager at AFRY.

The handbook offers checklists, interviews and resources that might be useful in your recruitment process. It is also available in Swedish. Download the handbook below, or find the Swedish version here.
