AFRY receives EWB Award

Entrepreneurs Without Borders (EWB) is a global organisation based in Sweden that helps driven entrepreneurs to start and grow sustainable businesses.

At a prize ceremony held in Stockholm, AFRY was awarded “for being a large player that is making a huge bet on the future, and that is truly going all-in on sustainability”.

“An innovative and entrepreneurial mindset is part of our company legacy and we believe we need to be one step ahead when it comes to understanding our client’s sustainability agendas. To accelerate the transition towards a sustainable society, in line with the 2030 Agenda and the 1.5-degree climate ambition, we need to join forces in partnerships and make brave decisions based on science and facts,” AFRYs Head of Sustainability, Marie Trogstam, comments.

It is the first time the award has been given to a large company.

“After going through all the nominees, we realised that one stood out from the rest. We felt that making such a bold statement as AFRY has done, with a mission to accelerate the sustainable transition, was worth acknowledging and maybe even more so for their size. Being a startup with one main idea is a lot different than being 17,000 employees in 40 countries,” says Donnie SC Lygonis, founder of Entrepreneurs Without Borders.

The EWB Award is an annual recognition of a person or an organisation that represents the Entrepreneurs Without Borders core values of sustainable entrepreneurship. The EWB award is given out together with EWB's partners Erik Penser Bank and BSC Business Club.
