AFRY & Tågab procuring a sustainable future

AFRY and Tågab are currently working together to procure new onboard equipment for Tågabs locomotives. The new onboard equipment will enable the vehicles to continue to operate in Sweden and Norway as well as on all lines equipped with the new signaling system, ERTMS.

ERTMS is all about facilitating smooth cross-border traffic and digitization of the railway sector. In Sweden and Norway, and Europe in general, ERTMS is being rolled out so that national legacy systems will not create a technical boundary when a locomotive is used to transport goods or people between different member states in EU.

Hence, with this new equipment Tågab will be able to operate their vehicles on a larger international network enabling sustainable transportation in Europe.

 - We are proud and happy that Tågab choose AFRY as a partner in the procurement of their new Onboard Equipment. We are supporting Tågab with technical project management, requirements as well as in the procurement process. It is an important project that will ensure that Tågabs locomotives are ready to contribute to a more sustainable future, says Pär-Johan Wedell, AFRY
