
Inauguration of COP25
Circularity, sustainable transitions, logistics for future and digitalisation on AFRY’s agenda for COP25.
Today, the inauguration of COP25 took place in Madrid. The inauguration included speeches by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and by IPCC Chair Hoesung Lee. Nancy Pelosi, leading a delegation with US Democrats, was also present. This year’s conference is designed to take the next crucial steps in the UN climate change process.
“COP25 is an incredibly important arena and I am proud to work at a company that puts a forum such as this one on top of the agenda,” says Marie Trogstam, Head of Sustainability.
AFRY’s agenda for the week will include discussions and seminars about: How circularity will support the Paris Agreement, Roundtable on sustainable energy transition, Remove policy barriers to enable global technology distribution for climate change, Logistics for future cities ,Transform Papua New Guinea to a more sustainable country and How digital technologies can support climate action.
“As part of the Business Sweden delegation to COP25 in Madrid, AFRY is now ready to discuss concrete solutions. Tomorrow we will start by discussing circular economy together with Ragnsells and ABB during Nordic breakfast briefing”, says Marie.
Close to 200 countries will be present at this year’s climate conference.
