With Gottlieb Paludan Architects, ÅF expands its architecture offering and now holds some of the strongest niche architect brands in Scandinavia.
The acquisition is in line with ÅF’s strategy to expand the architecture and design offer and to grow the business in Denmark.
Gottlieb Paludan Architects focus on architecture for the energy and utilities segments respectively the mobility and transport segments. It is one of very few Scandinavian architects specialized in transport infrastructure, energy and industrial plants. The firm has a broad portfolio of high-end projects and has won numerous design awards. Among recent award-winning projects are Värtaverket in Stockholm Sweden, Nørreport Station in Copenhagen Denmark, and Holmestrand Station near Oslo in Norway. Other on-going projects include BIO4, Copenhagen’s new biomass-fuelled combined heat and power plant, as well as the world’s largest waste-to-energy plant in Schenzhen, China.
“We are investing in our architecture and design offering with the ambition to become a leading player within architecture, and we do this by connecting with the best. We started a journey in 2016 and ÅF now includes tegn_3 in Norway and sandellsandberg as well as koncept stockholm in Sweden. Gottlieb Paludan Architects has a strong brand and is a natural next step in the expansion", says Jonas Gustavsson, President and CEO of ÅF.
Synergies are expected with ÅF’s current businesses within architecture and design, infrastructure and energy.
“We are delighted to become a part of ÅF. Partnering with ÅF is perfectly in line with our market strategy for the Nordics, and will provide access to a broad network of skills that will strengthen our client offer”, says Kristian Hagemann, CEO of Gottlieb Paludan Architects.
The company has an annual turnover of approximately SEK 140 million and 90 employees based in Copenhagen. Gottlieb Paludan Architects was consolidated by the ÅF Group as of January 1 2018.
