Per January 1 2016, ÅF acquires all shares in the Swedish engineering company VVS-Byrån i Växjö AB. The acquisition strengthens ÅF's engineering design services for the real estate sector in the south-eastern region of Sweden. The company is located in Växjö. VVS-Byrån has nine employees specialised in design of technical installation solutions for HVAC (heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and sanitation) and energy efficiency services for commercial properties, hospitals, industrial facilities, schools and residential housing.

”This is an important acquisition to support our expansion in Växjö and the region of southeast Sweden”, comments Björn Qvist, business area manager of ÅF's business area Buildings.

”By joining forces with VVS-Byrån, we will reinforce our local capacity to carry out larger turn-key assignments for the regional real estate and construction sector. We know each other well, and are already working together in several projects. Their co-workers are very skilled, and have a strong and solid reputation amongst their clients”, says Jonas Lindqvist who is ÅF's regional market area manager in Växjö for the real estate sector.

Important customer segments of VVS-Byrån include piping and HVAC installations contractors, public and private construction and real estate companies, and housing manufacturers.

Jörgen Ottman, current owner and managing director of VVS-Byrån, wraps up: ”The Växjö region is one of Sweden´s more expansive in terms of growth, with large planned investments in residential housing, schools, health-care facilities and infrastructure. Being part of ÅF, we can support our existing customers even better within more technical areas than merely HVAC. We will also get access to a much larger customer base. Our niche competence in medical gases is for instance very requested in ÅF's many on-going hospital projects. We have a very exciting journey ahead of us!”. Jörgen will continue working for ÅF as section manager in Växjö.

VVS-Byrån i Växjö will be integrated into ÅF's Infrastructure Division, which consolidates its position as Sweden´s leading actor in the buildings installations business.
