ÅF builds explosives storage for LKAB Kimit
LKAB is expanding production in the Svappavaara area and ÅF has been contracted to enlarge the storage facilities due to an increase in the amount of explosives required. ÅF will deliver an end-to-end solution with four new storage tanks for production materials and a new storage silo for explosives.

ÅF will deliver an end-to-end solution with four new storage tanks for production materials and a new storage silo for explosives. ÅF is responsible for all stages of the project from planning and design to construction management and CE labelling.
“By combining a local presence with expertise from several different offices, we can provide LKAB with an optimal project delivery that can be implemented in a short time,” says Peter Kaarle, section manager at ÅF.
The client is LKAB Kimit AB, which manufactures and supplies explosives products to the LKAB Group. The new facility will be ready in June 2016.
