ÅF has been contracted by CEJN to build a new assembly line in Skövde, Sweden. The assignment is an end-to-end solution for which ÅF will supply turnkey equipment for assembly of quick connect couplings. The order value is just over SEK 11 million. Commissioning is scheduled for spring 2017.

“The new line will be able to produce much greater volumes at a faster rate, which requires a high degree of automation,” says Joakim Toftby, project manager at ÅF.

The assignment includes mechanical and electrical design, programming, manufacturing, assembly, installation, commissioning, training, CE labelling and documentation.

The new assembly line is based on a so-called pallet conveyor system with the ability to assemble a variety of sizes and types.
