
ÅF wins large consulting contract in Lithuania

Eero Auranne, President Energy Division +358 403 485 120 Viktor Svensson, Director, Corporate Information +46 (0)70-657 20 26 ÅF has won a large consulting contract with energy company Fortum concerning a complete engineering and project management services of Fortum's new waste-to-energy cogeneration plant to be built in Klaipeda, Lithuania. The contract value for ÅF is several million euros. The plant will be the first waste-to-energy plant in Lithuania. It will use municipal and industrial wastes and biofuels as fuel. The plant will generate 20 MW of electricity and 50 MW of district heat for the Klaipeda municipality. It is capable for converting 272 000 tons per year of municipal waste to energy after taken into operation in January 2013.
