Thu, 17/07/2025 - 08:00 CEST

AFRY has been awarded a framework agreement with the power distribution company Fagne to support the upgrade of its electricity grid in Norway. Leveraging its extensive experience in electricity network development, AFRY will provide Fagne with both technical expertise and strategic process advisory.

Fagne is responsible for developing, maintaining, and delivering electricity to the residents of Haugalandet in the southwest of Norway. Through this agreement, Fagne will strengthen its capacity and commitment to address the growing demands of grid development in the region.

AFRY will assist Fagne in their grid development projects to establish a more robust and reliable power supply, while at the same time securing the region's long-term energy resilience.

"We look forward to the collaboration and the opportunities this agreement provides to achieve our goals in network development and energy resilience," says Arne E. Haukås, Section manager for engineering design and contract lead for the framework agreement at Fagne.

The framework agreement covers a broad range of services, including work on overhead lines, underground cables, submarine cables, and substations. It includes services ranging from early-phase planning and impact assessments to project management and detailed engineering for projects up to 132 kV.

"We are proud to contribute to the development of critical infrastructure for the region. This collaboration with Fagne marks an important milestone in our ambition to become the leading consultancy for transmission and distribution services in Norway, showcasing our ability to deliver integrated solutions, from early-phase planning to execution," says Tord Karlberg, Head of T&D Nordics at AFRY.

The framework agreements with Fagne will have a duration of four years plus an option to extend the agreement for an additional four years.
