AFRY in Hungary
AFRY ERŐTERV has been implementing projects in Hungary since the 1950s. We were originally established in 1950 as Erőmű Tervező Engineering Design Company, based in Budapest, with the aim of rebuilding the Hungarian electrical network and designing the first nuclear power plant in Paks. Since our establishment, we have been involved in many conventional power plant projects, as well as new-built installations and retrofit works. In 2011 we joined the Pöyry group and then became AFRY in 2019.
Today, AFRY ERŐTERV plays a key role in the Hungarian energy market with consultancy and design services. Within our Energy division, we have two departments: Transmission and Distribution and Nuclear, with civil, mechanical, electrical, and Instrumentation & Control (I&C) disciplines.
As the first power plant general design company in Hungary, we have the experience and knowledge to be actively participating in the establishment of the two new nuclear units in Paks. We are also continuously supporting Paks I NPP, with our highly experienced experts in consultancy and design services for reconstruction works and projects, and in collaboration with the operating units. Our unrivalled local expertise combined with our access to the global network of AFRY experts will enable us to deliver sustainable solutions in the Hungarian market for generations to come.
