AFRY in Indonesia
AFRY has been present in Indonesia for approximately 30 years, with a local AFRY company established in 1996. In the past, the company operated in Indonesia under the brand names of “Electrowatt Engineering”, “Pöyry”, “Colenco”, and “ÅF Consult”. Today, approximately 60 international and local experts work in our Indonesian unit, and we maintain close cooperation with the other AFRY offices, as well as a total of 450 AFRY experts in the Southeast Asia region.
AFRY's office is located in the central business district of Jakarta, and we are active in the following business sectors:
- Energy: Thermal Power, Hydropower, Wind, Solar, Hybrid, Biomass, Waste-to-Energy, Geothermal, Transmission & Distribution, and LNG Terminal projects.
- Industry: Pulp & Paper, Forest Industry, Chemicals, Mining & Metals
Within these sectors, AFRY is active in management consulting, technical consulting/engineering, and environmental and social consulting.
AFRY is one of the leading power sector consulting engineering companies in the country, with more than 100 power sector assignments in Indonesia. We are currently involved in more than 10,000 MW of power projects under development or construction in Indonesia. In the Industry sector, we have been involved in most of the large pulp and paper mill developments and several chemical and mining, and metals projects in the country.
