AFRY in Taiwan

AFRY has been active in the Taiwan market for over 50 years, previously operating under the brand names of Pöyry, BLIX Consultancy and Electrowatt. AFRY's subsidiary, Light Bureau, specialising in lighting design and solutions, is also actively involved in projects within the country. AFRY Netherlands – Taiwan Branch (previously known as BLIX Consultancy) is a Dutch renewable energy consulting company with a strong track record in offshore wind power and has had a branch office in Taipei since 2022.

Today, AFRY has two established branches in Taiwan, housing approximately ten professionals dedicated to the energy sectors.

AFRY offers an extensive array of energy and management consulting services in Taiwan. This encompasses energy sector market, technical, environmental & social advisory services, as well as engineering and project management services for renewable energy projects such as offshore and onshore wind and solar PV plants, battery storage, thermal power (gas, LNG and biomass power plants and waste-to-energy), hydropower, transmission & distribution, green hydrogen/ammonia, and LNG terminal projects. Over the last five years, we have been actively involved in more than 40 power sector-related assignments in the country.

AFRY’s management consulting arm is highly active in Taiwan conducting energy market studies, providing power and ancillary service price projections, strategy and market advisory services.

Beyond the energy sector, AFRY has also provided its expertise in the infrastructure sector, providing services for the Taiwan High-Speed Rail, rapid transit and light rail projects, and lighting design projects such as for the Taipei Fine Arts Museum.
