AFRY supports AB Grigeo Klaipėda Lithuania towards more sustainable operations
AFRY delivers Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety, and Operational processes audit to cardboard manufacturer, AB Grigeo Klaipėda, a subsidiary of AB Grigeo in Vilnius, Lithuania.
Based on the audit findings, AFRY also provides suggestions and recommendations and draws up an action plan for the implementation of technical or operational changes.
The scope of the audit covers technical diagnostics of the process, evaluation of the factory performance from the environmental and health and safety perspective, diagnostics of the management process, and regulatory compliance.
AFRY makes a plant performance assessment: sewage treatment and discharge systems and all technological processes will be assessed. Sources of odour, environment air and noise pollution will be identified; risk assessment procedures will be evaluated. AFRY helps the client to identify the improvements that will be implemented to business processes, based on the provided recommendations, in order to enable best practice in environmental and occupational health and safety, and operational processes.
“We continue to work consistently and will take urgent action to prevent situations such as the discharge of potentially untreated sewage from recurring in the future. An audit, carried out by international consultants, will provide an assessment of the company’s environmental and occupational health and safety situation, as well as of the sustainability of operational processes, and will help to improve currently active processes. For this, Grigeo Klaipėda chose one of the market leaders, AFRY, the Scandinavian engineering, design, and consulting company, with an extensive history of clients working in the pulp and paper manufacturing industry,” says Tomas Eikinas, CEO of Grigeo Klaipėda
“We understand the challenges that Grigeo Klaipėda is faced with, and its commitment to change and improvement, and we are committed to conducting a comprehensive audit of environmental and occupational health and safety, and operational processes as soon as possible, based on our long experience in the pulp and paper manufacturing industry, so that we can provide the company with solutions in the areas that require improvement,” says Christian von Bonin, principal at AFRY Management Consulting.
