Ericsson Globe is the world’s largest spherical building, inaugurated in 1989, and a symbol of Stockholm and Sweden. Here, Sweden won the World Cup in ice hockey in 2013, ”Bengan Boys” won the European Handball Championships in 2002, Nelson Mandela spoke in 1990, and world artists such as U2, Bruce Springsteen, Lady Gaga and Beyoncé have performed. The audience record is 17,303 spectators, when Metallica played on 7 May 2018.

The building is known for its great flexibility, and its red interior. It is currently undergoing a thorough interior renovation. AFRY’s assignment includes structural design and design of
ventilation systems. AFRY has also produced cost calculations regarding renovation of entrances and toilets.
