Prioritet Serneke Arena
Prioritet Serneke Arena is the largest multi-sport arena in the Nordic countries. It is located in Gothenburg, Sweden. The complex houses an indoor long distance skiing facility with a one-kilometre track, a full size football pitch with artificial turf, sports halls, gym, hotel, restaurants and several schools and colleges with a sports profile. All under one roof.
AFRY has designed all heating, ventilation, sanitation, water and sewage systems for the complex, which has a surface area of 45 300 square meters on seven floors.
The impressive scale of the project and the huge diversity in activities brough numerous challenges. Yet we managed to achieve ambitious requirements in terms of energy efficiency, and create sustainable solutions.
All heating is geothermic, for instance. Now the citizens of Gothenburg can enjoy all kinds of sports, ranging from basketball to biathlon, in an optimum indoor climate just ten minutes from the city centre.
