A new sustainable facility is combining innovation, taste, and nutrition.
As the global population grows and the demand for sustainable solutions intensifies, smarter resource utilization becomes essential. cReal specializes in developing ingredients derived from the whole oat kernel, aiming to unlock its full potential. By blending nature’s resources with advanced technology, they produce plant-based products that deliver high nutrition, great taste, and a positive impact on the planet.

As an engineering partner for the project, AFRY is responsible for the entire process, from installation to commissioning of the production line. The collaboration is based on scaling up cReal's successful pilot plant to a full-scale production facility.

Innovative products based on oats for a growing market
In the new facility in Bjuv, cReal will produce two groundbreaking products:
- Dried Oat Extract – A powder that mimics milk powder and can be used in everything from fermented dairy to ice cream, but also in chocolate
- Oat Fibre (rich in protein) – A nutrient-rich powder that can enrich foods, create healthy snacks, and enhance biscuits
The production is based on an innovative process, where oats from southern Sweden are combined with malted oats and pure water. Through fractionation and drying, products are created that maximize nutrient retention while minimizing waste.
