Preventing conflict minerals from being used in positioning instruments

AFRY helped an American company with production and development in the industries of agriculture, construction & operations and geospatial.

As part of a company's social responsibility commitment, it is important to ensure a sustainable supply chain that doesn’t endanger any human rights.

The assignment included set up of relevant investigation through their supply chain in order to secure that no conflict minerals (Tantalum, Tin, Gold, Volfram)* were included in their positioning instruments by complying with the values:

  • Transparency in supply chain and secured business
  • Reduce incentives for war
  • Avoid violation of human rights

The investigation ensured no conflict minerals was included in the customer's positioning instruments.

*Conflict resources are natural resources whose systematic exploitation and trade in a context of conflict contribute to, benefit from or result in the commission of serious violations of human rights, violations of international humanitarian law or violations amounting to crimes under international law.
