The safety of an electrical plant is affected by age and constant use. For this reason proper maintenance and regular checks and inspections are essential to minimise the risk of fires and/or personal injury.
Swedish insurance companies require EN audit inspections of electrical plants to ascertain whether the facility meets mandatory requirements and relevant safety standards.
Under the terms of an agreement reached by the parties concerned, the Electrical Committee of the Swedish Fire Protection Association serves as the central body for the country's insurance companies with regard to a number of electrical safety issues. It promotes safety through measures aimed at preventing damage by fire, damage to machinery, interruptions in supply or production, and personal injury.
