An energy performance certificate shows how much energy used in a building. It is a simple and effective way to find errors in energy use and to find solutions that will make the building more energy smart.
Under current law, buildings in Sweden shall be energy declared. The law is based on an EU directive which aims to lower energy use and a good indoor environment.
On 1 January 2014 were energy declaration summary redesigned. Buildings declared from that date on an energy will be rating from A to G. Energy Class A stands for a building with low energy consumption and G for a buildings with high energy consumption. A buildings that has an energy that corresponds to the demands of a new house today, class C.
The energy perfomance shall be stated in the ads when a building is sold or rented out. You can learn more about the energy classification on Boverkets website.
