At AFRY's own testing lab in Borlänge, the focus is on fast lead times and high quality. The lab is accredited in several methods to meet the requirements in the qualification process for welders, solderers, and operators, as well as in welding procedures. WeldWard is a digital tool specifically developed for welding managers. It provides an overview of the company's collected certificates, both welder tests and WPQR.
In WeldWard, you can print certificates and perform renewals. You can also create pWPS and WPS from your WPQR, which you've placed with us. When it's time to sign your welder test certificates, automatic renewal reminders are sent out in good time via email.

Accredited Services
AFRY (ÅF Industry) is accredited by SWEDAC for personal certification following the requirements of ISO/IEC 17024, SS-EN ISO/IEC 17020:2012 for the issuance of welding procedures and SWEDAC’s regulations.
We are also a third-party body by the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU (PED). Our decisions must be impartial, independent, and accurate, and we work to ensure that you receive a pleasant and proper service without favouring or disadvantaging any individual person or company.

AFRY operates a modern lab in Sweden where we conduct testing on various welding samples based on your specifications. We are accredited in several standards to ensure that we meet the requirements of the qualification process.

We offer two specially tailored training courses
A comprehensive full-day course in visual inspection and an in-depth training for welding supervisors. Our courses are designed to meet the stringent requirements demanded by European welding work.
Currently, all our training courses are conducted in Swedish.

1. Full-day course in Visual Inspection
For everyone involved in welding work and aiming to ensure the highest quality. Learn to inspect welds meticulously and become an expert in visual quality control.
All welds produced today must be 100% visually inspected. The requirements are found in the regulations for steel structures, Eurocodes, and EN 1090-2.
With this full-day training under your belt, as a welder, you will have a solid foundation to perform inspections of your own welds in everyday operations according to current regulations.
Target Groups and Prerequisites
For everyone involved in welding work and with a general knowledge of welding such as welders, inspectors, project managers, but also designers and draftsmen.

2. Develop as a Welding Supervisor
European standards now impose requirements on almost everything that is welded in our workshops and assembly sites. The regulatory framework is complex to follow and necessitates daily supervision of the welding work. We have identified the challenges that our welding industry needs to address and all the requirements that one encounters on a daily basis when adhering to the regulations.
This training is designed to provide a solid foundation for welding supervisors and anyone dealing with welding issues, covering the basic elements required for daily operations. It is an excellent training program for those working with welding. with welding.

The suitable background for the training is IWS, IWT, IWE or equivalent knowledge. The course is aimed at those in the company responsible for welding, but also at inspectors, purchasers, and designers.
