Landscape architecture is part of AFRY Architects, our collective of architects and designers across the Nordics. Together with AFRY’s broad expertise in engineering and consulting, we develop cities, landscapes and infrastructure with people, place and long-term sustainability at the centre.
From early stages to completed solutions
Our landscape architects, planning architects, urban designers and ecologists work across the entire process – from early studies, analysis and planning to design development and detailed design. We work at both large and small scales, with new environments as well as existing places and sites of cultural and historic value.
Our experience spans parks, squares and streetscapes, schools and educational environments, residential areas, commercial developments and infrastructure including roads, railways, bridges, tunnels, quays and harbours. We also work with wetlands, activity parks, urban development and other public environments.
Our services include design programmes, landscape analysis, impact assessments, planning documentation, detailed development plans and detailed design. In every project, we combine design quality with technical understanding, adapting our solutions to the specific ambitions, conditions, programme and budget of each project.

Climate change, biodiversity loss and the growing demand for attractive and healthy environments are creating new requirements for the way we plan and design our cities and landscapes.
We respond to the specific conditions of each site and consider social, ecological and economic sustainability as integrated aspects of the design. Our work can include biodiversity, ecosystem services, stormwater management, cloudburst solutions and climate adaptation, as well as climate calculations and guidance on materials, earthworks and other measures that can reduce a project’s climate impact.

Successful landscape architecture brings together many different perspectives. We therefore work closely with our clients and in multidisciplinary teams with specialists from across AFRY.
Combining architecture and design with engineering and specialist expertise enables us to address complex challenges as part of one integrated solution. It allows aesthetic, functional, technical and sustainability considerations to be brought together from the earliest stages of a project.
