Induced seismicity in mines, a challenge for deep mining

(Webinar in English):
What are the challenges when mines get deeper? How do deal with induced seismicity? How do we forecast seismicity? Can we predict where the next seismic even is going to happen? What has been applied to mine industry to increase safety, prevent injuries and reduce production losses? These are some topics that Anneliese Botelho, rock mechanics consultant, will cover on her webinar on 13 April.

Presenter: Anneliese Botelho
Title: Mining Engineer

Anneliese is a mining engineer who is concluding her PhD in rock mechanics with emphasis in induced seismic and wave propagation through fractured rock mass. Her research projects were always a collaboration with mining industry. She worked in the mining and blasting industry in Brazil, before moving to Sweden to take a PhD. The academic experience brings the innovative view to the mining industry.
