ÅF Pöyry, Siemens Digital Industries and Siemens PLM Software deepen their strategic collaboration on digital solutions for industrial companies through a special offer within Virtual Commissioning.
Production losses in the form of stop time and quality deficiencies in rebuilding and new installation are very costly. The collaboration is now being deepened with a focus on helping customers minimize the risk of production losses through virtual simulation models, so-called digital twins. More specifically, the collaboration will focus on virtual simulation of commissioning, known as Virtual Commissioning. The offer to the customer is based on technical experts from ÅF with very good knowledge of Siemens digital offer. The automation solutions offered come from Siemens Digital Industries and the simulation software from Siemens PLM Software.
A virtual simulation of a production facility or a production process means that commissioning can be prepared at the smallest level of detail in a digital environment before it is realized. The advantages of using digital twins are many: shorter lead times, increased security during commissioning and escalation, and the possibility for operators to train in a simulation environment before it becomes "sharp mode".
"With the partnership, ÅF and Siemens will now jointly take the next step in streamlining our customers' digital transformation for improved efficiency and flexibility throughout their production," says Robert Larsson, EVP and Head of Division Industrial & Digital Solutions.
“Our customers are increasingly demanding a system perspective when it comes to how digital tools can improve the productivity of their production facilities. The cooperation with ÅF means that we can offer our customers extensive technical expertise and solutions in this area”, says Göran Persson, Head of Siemens Digital Industries in Sweden.
