Career Story - Joel Sarasti
Meet Joel Sarasti, a Manager based in our Helsinki office.
What is your role at AFRY, and what is your professional background?
I am a Manager in our Helsinki based team which focuses on the Nordic energy sector. I joined AFRY in 2018 as an Analyst after completing my master's degree in energy technology. In my current role, I manage project teams in due diligence, decarbonisation, and market and investment analysis assignments in the heat and renewables sectors.
What do you enjoy about working for AFRY Management Consulting?
All of it! Advising client businesses to navigate in a market environment that is going through a massive transformation is highly interesting and, through the wide range of different project types, provides a steep learning curve to develop as an energy professional. Working with bright and committed colleagues makes project assignments even more fun.
When did your work at AFRY allow you to contribute towards Making Future?
I feel our work is contributing towards Making Future every day through our client assignments, whether it is helping our clients define their pathway and related investments towards a more sustainable business or developing long-term business plans for companies.
Besides your job. Tell us more about yourself. What do you like outside your work?
I enjoy everything about golf – the game itself is challenging and fun, while it also provides a great way of seeing friends. I also play floorball and guitar and am passionate about the Italian kitchen.
