Unlocking Potential: Overcoming Barriers in the Colombian and Peruvian Electricity Markets

When

12-December-2023

Colombia and Peru currently have very little operational renewable capacity and both countries are heavily dependent on hydro resources. In addition, both countries are periodically affected by extreme weather events known as ‘El Niño’ and ‘La Niña’ (depending on the country), which impact the hydro resources available in the electricity system.

According to AFRY analysis, the large deployment of RES capacity in both countries could help mitigate the weather effects, increasing the security of supply.

In this webinar, we provide an overview of the electricity markets and the current hot topics of Colombia and Peru, as well as the current barriers that renewables face in both countries.
