Pöyry received the Great Place To Work certification in Brazil
Pöyry, part of AFRY, an international engineering, design and consulting company, has been certified by Great Place To Work (GPTW) as an excellent place to work in Brazil. Respect, credibility and camaraderie were some of the aspects highlighted by the Pöyry employees in the survey, carried out anonymously by the Great Place To Work organisation.
Pöyry, part of AFRY, an international engineering, design, and consulting company, has been certified by Great Place To Work (GPTW) as an excellent place to work in Brazil. In total, on a scale of 1 to 100, Pöyry was awarded 88 points in a survey performed to evaluate the people management practices adopted and the work environment offered by the company in the dimensions of Credibility, Respect, Fairness, Pride and Camaraderie.
“The achievement of being given the GPTW certification is the result of the strategic, consistent and uninterrupted work that Pöyry carries out together with its employees, which had already been demonstrated in our internal satisfaction surveys and which intensified in the first months of the COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing,” explains Frank de Mello, Regional Executive Manager of Human Resources at Pöyry in Latin America. “The engagement pointed out by the research was only possible thanks to the dedication, courage and teamwork of our employees, at all levels, who embraced the idea of transforming Pöyry as part of the future.”
The aspects that received the highest scores in the Great Place To Work survey were attributed by employees to the fact that Pöyry is a safe place to work (98), offers facilities that contribute to a good working environment (97) and provides the equipment and resources necessary to carry out work tasks (97). Employees also highlight the managers' competence (93) and the clear vision of where the company is going and how to get there (92). Being a friendly place to work and willingness to work for the company for a long time complete the list of items that received scores above 90 points.
The Great Place to Work certification leverages 30 years of research to quantify the current state of the workplace culture and show how it compares to the best in the world. Being certified as one of the best companies in the region to work for is an important element in attracting the best talents as well as helping the company to be well-known beyond the engineering universe. For the company, diversity—of gender, ideas, training, origin and experience—stimulates creativity, promotes innovation and makes it possible to continue to lead the process of industrial digital transformation.
The certification contributes a lot to the building of employer branding and helps Pöyry achieve the stipulated goal of having at least 30% of jobs filled by women by 2020.
