Björn Qvist, Business Area Manager Buildings +46 10 505 10 79 Viktor Svensson, Executive Vice President, Corporate +46 70 657 20 26 Information ÅF has won a significant contract from Landstingsservice, the county-council service and property management provider in Uppsala County, to plan and design a new healthcare and treatment building. The order value is approximately 56 million SEK. The healthcare building is part of Projektet Framtidens Akademiska, a project to create the Uppsala University Hospital of the future. ÅF's undertaking comprises planning and designing electricity and telecommunications, transport, HVAC and sanitation, control and monitoring, and sound and vibrations. "We are very proud to be entrusted with this task," says Björn Qvist, BA Buildings. "It is further proof of ÅF's broad and in-depth expertise in smart, energy-efficient healthcare buildings." The Projektet Framtidens Akademiska venture to create the hospital of the future is the largest and most radical new-build and re-build project ever undertaken at Uppsala University Hospital. By 2020 Landstingsservice will build premises covering 58,000 square metres and re-build and upgrade an additional 100,000 square metres. The new healthcare and treatment building will be sustainable and use energy sparingly; supplied energy will be minimised through energy-efficient technology and intelligent structural engineering solutions. The new-build will meet the criteria for Miljöbyggnad Guld (Green Building Gold) certification.
