Amatera Renewable Energy Corporation has appointed AFRY as the owner’s engineer for the construction of a 65MWp solar photovoltaic (PV) plant and its electrical interconnection. The project will provide clean energy to the City of Bacolod in the Philippines.

Amatera Renewable Energy Corporation (ARECO) is a Philippine-based company undertaking a utility-scale solar power project called The Vista Alegre, a ground-mounted solar PV installation that will be located in Bacolod, the capital city of the island of Negros. ARECO is now part of B.Grimm Solar Power Inc., a subsidiary of B.Grimm Power, Thailand’s leading energy company committed to sustainable business growth in Southeast Asia.

AFRY will provide comprehensive services for the solar PV installation, including the interconnection facility up to the 69kV Bacolod substation. AFRY’s scope of work includes assistance in project management, design review, and monitoring of the construction and commissioning phases.

“We are delighted to support ARECO in this important solar PV project, contributing to Philippine’s renewable energy goals and to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. With AFRY’s extensive track record spanning over more than 500 solar power projects across 80 countries, boasting a combined capacity of over 90 GW, we are confident in our ability to add value to projects like this”, says Petteri Härkki, AFRY’s Regional Director for Asia.
