AFRY is designing an extension to the Tampere tram network
Tampere Tramway Ltd. and the City of Tampere, Finland, have appointed AFRY, YIT, NRC Group Finland and Sweco to a contract for extension of the Tampere tram network. The contract is an extension to the ongoing project alliance contract.
Tampere Tramway Ltd. and the City of Tampere, Finland, have appointed AFRY, YIT, NRC Group Finland and Sweco to a contract for extension of the Tampere tram network. The contract is an extension to the ongoing project alliance contract.
The alliance parties will jointly design and build a 0.7 km extension for the new tramline along the street Hatanpään valtatie. The contract includes the new tramline, completion of the turnout connection in Hämeenkatu, a new tram stop on the Sorinaukio square and an underground power supply substation. The work will commence in December 2019 and the project is scheduled for completion in September 2022.
The value of the contract is EUR 21 million and AFRY’s share of the extension is approximately EUR 0.6 million.
