Pierhead Street multi-storey car park in Cardiff Bay, UK

The design concept is a rolling wave structure, progressing along the façade of the building, with dynamic lighting to enhance a sense of movement.

The MSCP multi-storey car park, Cardiff Bay, formed part of the Cardiff Waterside Commercial development. Taking influence from the location, the undulating form of the façade signifies the washing waves of the bay. The tensile fabric structure is backlit with a double run of fluorescent luminaires. The fittings are individually focussed to accent the fabric. Dynamic lighting control creates a striking, animated visual that is reflected in the adjacent bay.
