AFRY contributes to Swedish national security
On April 18, 2019, a new signal intelligence (SIGINT) ship for the Swedish Navy was launched. AFRY had responsibility for ensuring cyber security compliance during the project, including requirement management and follow up of suppliers design and solutions.
The new SIGINT ship is named HMS Artemis. It is 74 metres long with displacement of 2,200 tonnes and will replace the current intelligence-gathering vessel HMS Orion.
The Cyber Security Unit at AFRY was responsible for IT security activities in the Swedish Defence Material Administration’s project team for the construction of the new SIGINT ship. That included responsibility for ensuring compliance with the accreditation process during the project, requirement management and follow up of suppliers design and solutions.
The assignment is one example of how AFRY contributes to Swedish national security with well-defined processes and a structured systems approach together with competent and well educated staff.
