We see future mobility design as imperative, a non-negotiable area that we feel driven to work within. Our opportunity is unique as we work closely with both future stakeholders within the city, urban planners and infrastructure decision makers. This is a true passion where we work across disciplines, curious of the future, we are creating solutions at the technical forefront of design and engineering with our partners from across the AFRY family.

The infrastructure foundation that mobility is dependent on is in a huge transformation. Urban environments are shifting city streets towards walk-friendly areas with less space for parking of individual mobility – building a better quality of life for the people within cities. This is an opportunity to rethink and prototype what tools we need in the future.

Because we work with our colleagues in Transport Infrastructure, Urban planning, Digital & ICT, Energy & Power, Environment, and Architecture to name a few we are ideally placed to help our clients answer the existential and philosophical questions that surround future mobility. We connect the dots between these issues in order to develop connected future mobility products and services.

We believe in the power of envisioning future mobility concepts to accelerate the transition towards a more sustainable and enjoyable environment in cities. When the industry slowed down during the pandemic, we used our curiosity to work with groups in our urban society that are in need of flexible, safe and mindful solutions that the value of autonomy provides. For the elderly and children, mobility means accessibility.

Meet ATLAS - our concept vehicle that embraces our philosophy to create sustainable solutions that benefit everyone

ATLAS is a smart self-driving vehicle that makes mobility more accessible and inclusive. Within the fast-growing demographic of elderly, loneliness is an unfortunate trend. At a fraction of the cost of current solutions, ATLAS provides those that experience a decrease in mobility an opportunity to visit their loved ones, take care of themselves and stay active.

In combination, ATLAS is also for the young children of our society that needs secure access to education and activities. The smart interior provides a safe environment for the children and the layout has been designed for interaction between all passengers. The senses are stimulated with augmented reality, providing a fun and educational experience without losing touch with the surroundings ATLAS drives through.
