Waste and Recycling Consulting

Enabling decision-making for sustainable waste management and recycling

Providing both qualitative and quantitative views by combining sophisticated waste market modelling, market intelligence and expertise. AFRY is in a unique position to provide advisory services to value chain stakeholders through the seamless collaboration of our management consulting team and AFRY’s technical, environmental and sustainability experts.

Global challenges like climate change and the pollution problem drive society towards increased recycling and more sustainable waste management practices. Waste is an increasingly important resource and we at AFRY are here to help you to make the best decisions, ensuring a winning position for your future business. Our globally connected team of waste management and recycling professionals delivers client projects uniquely tailored to each situation, often together with local AFRY experts.

AFRY’s waste market modelling provides insights into market dynamics and future developments. As a starting point of modelling, we look at waste generation and treatment together with trends and drivers for market development. By combining this information with optimised waste sourcing, we reach a quantified understanding of the supply/demand outlook for all types of waste, focusing on relevant waste sources for each case. The supply/demand analysis data feeds into our gate fee outlooks, enabling us to provide a complete view of the market and business attractiveness.

Our key offerings:

  • Business intelligence and strategic advisory for recycling, recovery, and waste-to-energy
  • Waste market quantification and modelling (supply/demand outlooks, waste availability)
  • Gate fee outlooks
  • Legislation and policies
  • Due diligence assignments (commercial, environmental, and technical)
